Laurie B. Biggs is well recognized as a leader in the bankruptcy community. Over her career, she has helped businesses of all sizes, farmers, and individuals navigate through the bankruptcy process and successfully re-emerge from their financial hardships. Ms. Biggs is a Board-Certified Specialist in Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the North Carolina State Bar and Ms. Biggs practices in all of the federal and state courts in North Carolina, as well as before arbitration panels, administrative proceedings, and in mediations.

Her knowledge, experience, and understanding of the practicalities of legal practice have led to numerous honors including North Carolina Super Lawyers (2014-2021), a Top 50: Women North Carolina Super Lawyers (2021, 2019, 2017, 2016), and in 2019 Mrs. Biggs was named in Lawyers Weekly’s Women of Justice (2019), and Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite in Bankruptcy (2021). The 2018 Annual Directory of Super Lawyers published by Thomson Reuters, named Ms. Biggs as one of the six best business bankruptcy attorneys in the State of North Carolina, along with her law partner, Trawick H. Stubbs, Jr., giving Stubbs Perdue one third of the best business bankruptcy attorneys in the State of North Carolina.

Ms. Biggs regularly helps business owners restructure financially distressed businesses, represents farms, farmers, and high net worth individuals through chapter 11 and 12 bankruptcy cases, helps individuals file chapter 7 and 13 consumer bankruptcy cases, represents property owners in eminent domain or condemnation cases, and helps businesses and individuals with real estate, estate planning, and tax matters.
